July 25, 2011

The national gay rights movements celebrated the moment on Sunday when the New York became the sixth and one of the largest states of the United States that provides the opportunity to the gays to get marry. The acceptance of the Gay marriages in New York was a very important step for the Gay rights movements as it electrifies the supporters and the opponents of the movement together. Other five major states of the United States voted in the favor of the gay marriage and so the New York is the new addition that also has also accepted it as a legal act. The state is calling for a nationwide referendum on this case because a lot of opponents of the movement have been gathered from different parts of the US. These opponents are very upset at the Government and the law maker’s decisions at legalizing the act. In the city clerk’s office there were hundreds of couples seen anxiously waiting to get married. The ceremonies were arranged in a nearby chapel. The couples were seen with bouquets and the wedding dresses. Dozens of clerks welcomed the new couples to get the marriage certificate. The moment was sentimental for almost all of them.
