The world’s longest Swiss tunnel is now announced to be completed and is all set to stamp a world breaking record. The Swiss tunnel is known to be the Gotthard tunnel and tends to exceed the length of the Seikan rail tunnel as well which is 53.8km and links all Japanese islands existing between Honshu and Hokkaido. Moreover, it is said that tunnel runs for around 2,000m underground and this range is scaled between the two ends of the tunnel. Also, around 2,500 people have been reported to have worked on the tunnel and also around eight people are known to have lost their lives in the due course of the tunnel construction.
