According to the new safety guide lines in UK pertaining to blood donations, it is announced that patients having ME would not be able to donate blood. It is banned because the health of these patients is known to be as chronic fatigue syndrome. This rule is made so that the patients can be protected by not giving blood otherwise the patient’s condition is likely to grow worse. Blood borne illness is another reason for not donating blood by these patients as the blood of these patients can cause a severe viral infection which has been discovered by scientists. This ban is assured as to not affect the blood donor bank in any way and is applicable on the entire blood services bank all across UK.
