‘New Signs' of Syrian Nuclear Efforts

November 1, 2011

The researchers from the United Nations have recently found out that certain complex is sustaining the distrust regarding Syria. As per the reports, the Syrian forces were in contact with Pakistani scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. This person was the founder of the nuclear technology in Pakistan and thus is known to be the father of atomic bombs in the country. The complex under discussion is basically a structure that has been found to be made of uranium material that was supplied to the Syrian forces few months back. The indications are signaling to that period during which Muammar Qaddafi was in process of making the state a nuclear power under the assistance of this great scientist from Pakistan. This information has been found to be quite authentic as according to the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency there was a concrete association found between the two parties. A senior officer from the Syrian army made a visit to the Dr. Qadeer’s lab in the year 1998. But the later details of investigations revealed that the complex under discussion was simply found to be a cotton spinning plant and no signs of any nuclear activity were found there. But four years back an attack on Syria destroyed a plutonium reactor there, so the analysts suggests that Syria might had been involved in creating the nuclear power through the use of either uranium plutonium. As far as the response from the Syrians is concerned, they are repeatedly denying the accusation that Syria was ever involved in becoming a nuclear power. At this issue, they are giving no response. The issue has been highlighted to this extent because of the reason that the Syrians are frequently rejecting the IAEA’s request for there visit into the complex.
